Maps uses your location to help you find directions from where you are to where you want to go, and shows you businesses, restaurants, and other places of interest that are nearby.
Allow Maps to use your location
If you see a message that Maps can’t use your current location, you need to turn on Location Services in System Preferences.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Security & Privacy.
Click the lock icon to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.
Click Privacy, select Location Services in the list on the left, select Enable Location Services, then select Maps.
Show your location on the map
In the Maps app on your Mac, click the Current Location button in the toolbar (or use the Touch Bar).
A blue dot appears on the map at your location.
Turn off your current location

You can turn off Location Services for all apps on your Mac or just for Maps.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Security & Privacy.
Click the lock icon to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.
Click Privacy, select Location Services in the list on the left, then deselect Maps. To turn off Location Services for all apps, deselect Enable Location Services.
